Royalty Contest Rules and Regulations
1. Individuals of any age with a physical, developmental or sensory disability are eligible for nomination.
2. Candidates for King, Queen, Duke or Duchess must be 16 years or older. Prince, Princess and Pages will be selected from children and
teens 15 years and younger.
3. Votes are $1.00 each
4. 50% of the money raised by each participating school/organization will go back to their school/organization and 50% will go to Fiesta Especial.
5. The contest will begin Tuesday, November 1, 2011 and will end Tuesday, January 31st, 2012 at 5:00pm.
6. All monies raised by each school/organization should be submitted along with your school/organization's nomination form no later than Tuesday, January 31st, 2012. Payment can be made to Reaching Maximum Independence, Inc., the fiscal agent for Fiesta Especial. Check or Money Orders will be accepted. NO CASH PLEASE.
7. All candidates must have a signed permission form on file.
8. Once your school/organization begins participation, no monies will be returned, if a parent, guardian or participant decides to withdraw their nomination.
9. For the safety of the children, candidates soliciting votes must be accompanied by a parent or other adult.
10. Various methods of collecting votes (dollars) may be used. For example: Placing jars/cans in offices and other places where permitted, donations collected, etc.
11. Crowning of the court will take place at the Hand-in-Hand runway show on Saturday, February 18th at Morgan's Wonderland. A photographer
will be on hand to take photos for use in various media. The court will march in the Fiesta Especial parade, April 21st, 2012 and they will also be introduced on stage. As a fiesta sanctioned event, they may also be asked to participate in other Fiesta San Antonio events.
12. Fiesta Especial will provide sashes and crowns for the Royal Court at Coronation.
