During the 2024-2025 Fiesta® season, the Fiesta Especial® Royal Court will represent Fiesta Especial® in the community demonstrating to others the abilities of all individuals to achieve their dreams...bringing visibility to the leadership and contributions individuals with disabilities make in our community each day.
The Fiesta Especial® Royal Court program is a leadership and life skills development program for individuals with all types of cognitive, physical and sensory disabilities. Age: 10 Benefiting Organization: Redland Oaks Elementary Campaign Total: HOW CANDIDATE'S CAMPAIGN SUPPORTS OUR COMMUNITY: Ivan has chosen Redland Oaks Elementary as his benefiting organization. Redland Oaks Elementary School is dedicated to teaching the whole child. Their goal is to guide students academically, socially, and emotionally. Ivan's campaign will help to fund the inclusion of a sensory space for students at the school. Ivan is a vibrant young man who has a knack for turning strangers into friends and bringing joy to every room he enters. With a passion for dancing and a heart full of enthusiasm, Ivan is always on the move, looking for new ways to be out and about in the community, spreading smiles wherever he goes. Despite facing various barriers, Ivan has achieved incredible things. He’s dedicated countless hours to volunteering, and his infectious spirit has touched the hearts of many. His family is eager to support his desire to give back to the community that has helped him grow and thrive—offering him opportunities that might not have been possible without the generosity of others. Age: 41 Benefiting Organization: SAFire Campaign Total: HOW CANDIDATE'S CAMPAIGN SUPPORTS OUR COMMUNITY: Monica has chosen SAFire as her benefiting organization. San Antonio Fitness Independent and Recreationally Environment (SAFire) provides a safe and welcoming space for members of our community to engage in physical activity and socialize with others. We strive to offer a variety of programs and services that promote health and wellness. Monica is passionate about inspiring others with disabilities to pursue their goals and actively give back to the community. She finds joy in contributing to her community and is an enthusiastic participant in the Fiesta Especial Royal Court, where she helps raise funds to support disability service organizations in San Antonio. Monica believes that being a good role model means staying true to yourself and standing up for what you believe in, and she leads by example every day. When asked why she wanted to serve on the 2025 court, Monica replied "For the past 3 years, I really enjoy meeting new people, being part of being around other royal court organizations, and giving back to my community (by raising money) as well as attending a wide variety of Fiesta events. Eva's Heroes is dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with intellectual special needs ages 14 and older. Joachim is a dedicated and active member of the Miracle League Softball team and participates in various programs offered by Eva's Heroes. He engages in a range of therapies, including equine, recreational, music, and aquatic therapies, where he enjoys spending time with friends. Joachim is a strong self-advocate who confidently expresses his needs and preferences, always standing up for himself. When asked why he wanted to serve on the 2025 court, Joachim replied "I have participated since 2016 in medal collection and run into Fiesta Royalty all the time. Age: 10 Benefiting Organization: Any Baby Can Campaign Total: HOW CANDIDATE'S CAMPAIGN SUPPORTS OUR COMMUNITY: Amanda has chosen Any Baby Can as her benefiting organization. Any Baby Can partners with families to build stability, develop skills, and unlock each child’s full potential. Amanda is a 10yr old with a big heart and passion for helping others. She loves making new friends and spreading awareness about her Autism and her 22q 11.2 duplication syndrome. Despite everything she has been through she keeps a smile on her face and still loves to spread kindness to everyone and loves to volunteer. She has touched a lot of hearts and wants to give back to her community as they have given to her. Age: 13 Benefiting Organization: The Autism Treatment Center Campaign Total: HOW CANDIDATE'S CAMPAIGN SUPPORTS OUR COMMUNITY: Kullen has chosen The Autism Treatment Center as his benefiting organization. The Autism Treatment Center assists people with autism and related disorders throughout their lives as they learn, play, work and live in the community. Kullen is a joyful young man who embraces and celebrates differences, showing everyone that it’s okay to be unique. With his "AUsome" superpowers, he is dedicated to educating others about Autism and expanding their understanding. Kullen is passionate about encouraging people to see the world from new perspectives. His love for his city, Fiesta, and collecting medals has given him plenty of opportunities to practice his social skills and connect with others. When asked why he wanted to serve on the 2025 court, Kullen replied "I want to educate San Antonio on seeing the world from a different lens. Age: 25 Benefiting Organization: Brea's House Avengers Campaign Total: HOW CANDIDATE'S CAMPAIGN SUPPORTS OUR COMMUNITY: Jada has chosen Brea's House Avengers as her benefiting organization. Jada Nicole Cherry is a talented and aspiring actor and singer born in Heidelberg, Germany, on October 5, 1998, to her proud parents, Aundrey and Sherri Cherry, and her eager big sister, Jasmine. Jada’s journey began as part of the first Fiesta Especial Royal Court in 2012, and she served as Page in 2022, continuing to contribute as court alumni over the years. Crowned Miss NAACP in 2016, Jada has showcased her talents in various ways, from participating in the Eva’s Heroes Lights Camera Fashion Show in July 2024 to walking the runway during New York Fashion Week. She also has three voice-over credits, including roles in an animated movie in Canada and an animated Barbie show. In August 2024, Jada auditioned for American Idol and is set to release her first song soon. A passionate dancer, Jada loves sharing her moves on social media and attends Brea’s House Arts (BHA), a life enrichment day program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Her volunteer efforts include supporting the San Antonio Diaper Bank and contributing annually to food drives for the San Antonio Food Bank through Jack and Jill, Inc. When asked why she wanted to serve on the 2025 court, Jada replied "I enjoy spending time with my friends on the Royal Court, meeting new people, and makin new friends." The ARC of San Antonio enhances the quality of life for children and adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities and their families. Steven, a San Antonio native, has always had a deep love for Fiesta, especially enjoying the vibrant sounds of mariachis, the iconic chicken on a stick, and the excitement of the Flambeau Parade. For the past two years, Steven has been an enthusiastic participant in Fiesta Especial, creating countless happy memories. He eagerly looks forward to reuniting with his Fiesta friends and making new ones, as the experience has brought him immense joy and greatly boosted his self-esteem. Age: 50 Benefiting Organization: McCauley Baptist Church Campaign Total: HOW CANDIDATE'S CAMPAIGN SUPPORTS OUR COMMUNITY: Michael has chosen McCauley Baptist Church as his benefiting organization. McCauley Baptist Church seeks to reach a diverse community using all opportunities available. They desire to be a visible image of Christ through the development of people and growth of ministry. Michael is a dedicated volunteer who is always ready to lend a hand wherever he can. He actively supports his community through various roles, including volunteering at McCauley Baptist Church, where he helps with Vacation Bible School, the Nursing Home Ministry, and the Bus Ministry. Michael also serves as a volunteer for the Fiesta Flambeau Parade and gives his time at the Elvira Cisneros Senior Center, where he helps distribute lunches and leads a devotional class. A proud member of the Fiesta Flambeau Parade Association, Michael also shares his love of music by participating in the choir at McCauley Baptist Church. His commitment to service and passion for giving back make him an invaluable asset to his community. Sunshine Cottage School for Deaf Children promotes early identification and intervention for children who are deaf or hard of hearing and helps them develop their maximum potential through listening, spoken language and literacy. Vivian is a kind-hearted, caring young girl who always strives to be her best. Known for her patience and understanding, especially when working with younger children, Vivian never hesitates to lend a hand and bring a smile to those around her. She is learning to use her voice to stand up for herself and others, embracing her growing confidence. Vivian volunteers weekly with her mom at the Sunshine Cottage School for Deaf Children, where she engages with the children, assists the teachers and staff, and supports other volunteers. As a homeschool student, she actively participates in 4H and drama. Currently, Vivian is preparing for her role as Luisa in the musical "Encanto," where she continues to showcase her dedication and passion for helping others. Age: 14 Benefiting Organization: Morgan's Wonderland Campaign Total: HOW CANDIDATE'S CAMPAIGN SUPPORTS OUR COMMUNITY: Branden has chosen Morgan's Wonderland as his benefiting organization. Morgan's Wonderland provides a fun, clean, and beautiful environment free of physical and economic barriers that all individuals can come to and enjoy regardless of age or ability. Branden is passionate about the vibrant culture of San Antonio and the excitement of Fiesta. While he has always loved the parades, he’s never had the chance to attend one—making this a perfect opportunity to try something new. Through his high school experience, he has developed a strong desire to help others and is eager to grow as a leader. This program will be a great adventure and an opportunity for Branden to become more involved and engaged in his community. With a knack for thinking outside the box, he brings a positive attitude, fresh ideas, and a unique perspective to everything he does. Age: 18 Benefiting Organization: Rise Therapeutic Equestrian Center Campaign Total: HOW CANDIDATE'S CAMPAIGN SUPPORTS OUR COMMUNITY: Ruth C. has chosen Rise Therapeutic Equestrian Center as her benefiting organization. Rise Therapeutic Equestrian Center provides equine assisted activities, including adaptive /therapeutic riding and hippotherapy, for individuals with cognitive, physical or emotional challenges in order to help them meet personal goals, maximize activities of daily living and improve overall function while experiencing the joy of horsemanship. Ruth has a special talent for bringing happiness and cheer to everyone she meets, instantly making people feel connected and valued. Her joyful spirit lights up every room, and she loves sharing her positivity wherever she goes. Ruth is especially excited to join her big sister, who is applying for the Miss Fiesta program, in all the royal fun, from making capes and dressing up to enjoying the many visits and activities together. Ruth also participates in horse riding therapy, which brings her great joy and further enhances her ability to connect with others. Age: 41 Benefiting Organization: Fiesta Especial Celebration Day Campaign Total: HOW CANDIDATE'S CAMPAIGN SUPPORTS OUR COMMUNITY: Ruth W. has chosen Fiesta Especial Celebration Day as her benefiting organization. Fiesta Especial Celebration Day provides an inclusive and educational experience that attracts special education classes, group homes, day programs, and families from San Antonio and surrounding communities. Ruth is a compassionate role model who is always there to support her friends, helping them find essential resources like food, clothing, and other necessities. A true team player, she enjoys assisting others and ensuring everyone feels included and supported. CRIT serves children in the United States with neurological, muscular, and skeletal disabilities through a comprehensive, compassionate, state-of-the-art rehabilitation program focused on family healing and inclusion Orlando is a friendly and compassionate individual who loves being around people and always looks for ways to help others. Age: 32 Benefiting Organization: Inspirational Experiences Campaign Total: HOW CANDIDATE'S CAMPAIGN SUPPORTS OUR COMMUNITY: Kate has chosen Inspirational Experiences as her benefiting organization. Inspirational Experiences provides events and services specifically designed for the special needs community that are open to all who wish to participate. Katharine Fanizzi-Chaney is the founder of **Inspirational Experiences**, a nonprofit organization that provides sensory-friendly events year-round for the special needs community in the New Braunfels-San Antonio area. Katharine’s journey began with her own unique experiences; born legally blind and not diagnosed until age 5, she underwent patching, drops, surgeries, and occupational therapy to gain a chance at a higher quality life. At age 13, Katharine was diagnosed with "Asperger's" Autism. By 23, she faced a new challenge with photogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES), and at 32, she was diagnosed with lupus, anemia, and more. Despite numerous barriers, Katharine has remained determined to create a safe, inclusive space where people can learn, grow, and truly be themselves. In addition to her work with Inspirational Experiences, Katharine volunteers with the LKC after-school program at Legacy Traditional Schools. She lives by the belief that "leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality," and she exemplifies this in all she does, making her a remarkable candidate for this fundraising campaign. Braeden is a true role model who believes that being a little different doesn’t mean you can't contribute just like everyone else. He actively volunteers with the Texas Ramp Project and the San Antonio Food Bank, giving his time and energy to support those in need. Age: 14 Benefiting Organization: Celebrate Dyslexia Campaign Total: HOW CANDIDATE'S CAMPAIGN SUPPORTS OUR COMMUNITY: Sebastian has chosen Celebrate Dyslexia as his benefiting organization. Celebrate Dyslexia is on a mission to celebrate, educate and empower the one in five with dyslexia. Their vision vision is that every human with dyslexia is equitably prepared to live, work and experience life with limitless opportunity. Sebastian is a compassionate individual with a big dream of becoming a doctor specializing in various types of surgery. His caring nature and dedication to helping others are at the heart of his aspirations. Outside of his academic interests, Sebastian stays active by playing soccer, swimming, and enjoying his VR headset. He also proudly participates in Mexican cultural activities, embracing and celebrating his heritage. Age: 16 Benefiting Organization: Vibrant Works Campaign Total: HOW CANDIDATE'S CAMPAIGN SUPPORTS OUR COMMUNITY: Ayub has chosen Vibrant Works as his benefiting organization. Vibrant Works fosters inclusive, supportive and compassionate communities, enabling independence and fulfilling lives. They empower people who are blind or vision impaired to push past their limits through hard work and commitment and to exceed expectations of what was believed as possible. Ayub is a dedicated community member who is always eager to help others. With a deep understanding of his disability, Ayub is passionate about advocating not just for himself, but for the entire community, striving to create a more inclusive world for all. He's always the first to step up and say, "I can do that." Ayub actively volunteers with several school committees and organizations that support people with visual disabilities, including the Texas School for the Blind and the National Federation for the Blind. He also enjoys volunteering alongside his mother at Partners Resource Network events and activities. An avid baseball player, Ayub proudly plays with the Miracle League, where he continues to inspire others with his can-do attitude and dedication to service.
